PDFinity is designed to respect your privacy completely. The application does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information or usage data. All operations are performed locally on your Mac, ensuring that your documents and data remain entirely under your control.
Data Processing
When you use PDFinity to convert PDF documents to images, all processing occurs exclusively on your device. This means:
- Your PDF files are never uploaded to our servers or any third-party service
- No conversion data or file contents leave your Mac
- The app functions completely offline without requiring an internet connection
- No analytics, telemetry, or tracking mechanisms are implemented
- No user accounts or registration processes are required
File System Access
PDFinity only accesses files and folders that you explicitly authorize through macOS's built-in security mechanisms. The app requests permission to access:
- Files you select using the standard macOS file picker
- Files you drag and drop into the application window
- Your Downloads folder (for saving converted files, with your permission)
- Your Documents folder (for organizing converted files, with your permission)
These permissions are managed by macOS and can be revoked at any time through System Settings > Privacy & Security.
Data Storage and Retention
PDFinity does not maintain any databases or logs of your activities. Converted image files are saved directly to the location you specify on your Mac. The application does not retain copies of your original PDFs or converted images after the conversion process is complete.
Third-Party Services
PDFinity operates as a standalone application without any integration with third-party services, analytics platforms, advertising networks, or cloud storage providers. Your data remains exclusively on your device.
Security Measures
PDFinity leverages macOS's built-in security features, including app sandboxing and file system permissions, to ensure that your data remains secure. The application is distributed exclusively through the Mac App Store, which provides additional security through Apple's review process and code signing requirements.
Children's Privacy
PDFinity does not collect information from any users, including children under the age of 13. The app's privacy-first design ensures that it is safe for users of all ages.
International Users
Since PDFinity does not collect or transmit any data, there are no international data transfer concerns. Your files remain on your device regardless of your geographic location.
